Classes at the Warragul Leisure Centre
Baw Baw Shire Council redeveloped the Warragul Leisure Centre at 21 Burke Street, and it reopened in September 2016. It has indoor and outdoor pools, a warm water pool and a sports stadium, plus child minding and a kiosk. Classes include circuit training and aqua aerobics, and the group fitness room runs low and high impact classes for any age. We found no council page confirming a weights gym there. If you want machines and free weights, ask before you assume.
Two more courts arrived with a stadium expansion officially opened on 28 July 2024. They are for basketball and netball.
Two outdoor pools with different seasons
The Warragul outdoor pool is open from 1 October to 10 April regardless of weather. Drouin's 50 metre solar heated pool on Sinclair Street, beside the Drouin Recreation Reserve, opens from 1 December to 31 March on days forecast at 25 degrees or more. Swim in summer, lift all year? A gym close to your pool keeps both easy.
Commuters and families
In 2021, 39.2% of occupied homes in Warragul - Drouin were owned with a mortgage, the largest share (ABS QuickStats). Busy weeks need a gym that fits around them. Ask:
- Is there child minding, and when?
- Is the gym open before an early train?
- Can you freeze the membership for a month?
Group fitness classes give a busy week a fixed slot.
A note on how this works: InterFit is an independent referral service, not a gym. One gym or studio near Warragul or Drouin gets your enquiry and may pay for it. Make an enquiry.
